In 2016, Boom Studios and WWE joined forces to produce the best-selling wrestling comic series of all time. In the vein of the popular television series Friday Night Lights, Boom's WWE comicbook outings showcase what happens to superstars of RAW and SmackDown when the cameras are no longer rolling. Writer Dennis Hopeless Hallum and artists Dan Mora and Serg Acuña chronicle the unseen moments during many of the WWE's iconic story lines from the past few years. The rise of The Shield, the women's evolution and the relationship between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are a few examples of the exciting story arcs Hopeless and company explore.

In addition to the main twenty-five issue series, Boom has also released a number of one-shots and mini-series often featuring guest writers and illustrators. WWE superstar Samoa Joe even has a writing credit in one such feature. The likes of The New Day and The Undertaker have each gotten their own graphic novels, and the superstars of NXT received their own four issue mini.

While the main series ended earlier this year with issue 25, the partnership between Boom and WWE is ongoing with more specials and original graphic novels expected to be announced.
