This graphic novel by writer Aubrey Sitterson and artist Chris Moreno details the vibrant and storied history of professional wrestling. Forsaking standard story form, this book takes the reader on a detailed gallop through time. Starting with the origins of professional wrestling during the American carnival circuit of the late nineteenth century, and ending with the present day indie-wrestling boom, this book provides a fresh historical perspective appreciated by even the most well-read of wrestling historians.

Sitterson and Moreno do an excellent job expressing the development of wrestling not just in America, but globally as well. Everything from the rise and fall of the National Wrestling Alliance and the glory days of the territory system to the development of lucha libre in Mexico and puroresu in Japan is beautifully illustrated with careful attention given to historical fact.

The amount of research and love that went into crafting this book is wholly evident upon the first read. Covering over a century and a half of history in one-hundred and seventy pages is no easy endeavor, but Sitterson and Moreno excellently execute this daunting task in a fashion normally reserved for Canadian wrestling royalty. It is no surprise that AEW stars like Christopher Daniels and Cody Rhodes sing the praises of this wonderful graphic novel.
