In World Championship Wrestling's suicidal quest for ratings, rating and more ratings, the company made a mistake that would prove fatal. Matches that should have been saved for pay-per-view events were given away for free on TV, costing WCW money and creating a feeling of disposability in the process.

With the amount of TV time at WWE's disposal this may be another difficult thing to achieve, but it is important that the matches involving the members of the Balor Club matter.

If you see Anderson or Gallows wrestling every week on RAW some of the lustre is lost. This is particularly true of Finn Balor, who should be kept for special events. People need to be willing to pay money to see these men fight.

WCW and the nWo made the mistake of giving away nWo matches for free every single week. This made sure the group became tired quick.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
