5 Other Power Moves WWE Could Make To Thwart AEW

4. Downplay The Accolades Of Former WWE Stars Who Are Now With AEW

Why The NXT You Love Is Over Triple H Stephanie McMahon USA Network

The last thing McMahon would ever want to do is give AEW any kind of free publicity. This means any former WWE stars currently competing for AEW may find their names being scarcely mentioned (if at all) on WWE television. The likes of Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and Cody could end up going the way of Chris Benoit and CM Punk, never to be mentioned again.

Seth Rollins recently made a mention on Raw of being betrayed by his best friend, but tellingly, despite obviously referencing Dean Ambrose, he didn't address his former comrade by name. This is almost certainly a sign of things to come, as despite their many accolades - be it 'Y2J''s crowning as the first undisputed champion or 'The Lunatic Fringes''s run with The Shield - you won't be hearing combatants or announcers uttering their names on air anytime soon.

For causal fans, this will mean they're out of sight and out of mind, leaving no reason for them to look up what they're doing now and discovering a fresh alternative to the biggest wrestling entity on the planet. For fans in the know however, these could stand out as glaring omissions when events involving these stars are brought up. And yet, you'll stand more chance of hearing Voldemort being spoken of in Hogwarts.
