Perhaps the most welcome benefit of this Lesnar vs. Goldberg hullabaloo is that it’s helped to make Survivor Series feel great again.

Even though the November showcase has always been regarded as one of Big Four shows, it’s sometimes been easy to forget that this PPV is second only to WrestleMania in the list of longest-running WWE events.

By giving the show a megastar match like this one though, it really adds to the big fight feel and makes Survivor Series appear to be a massive deal. The way in which this rivalry has been presented has been worthy of a WrestleMania build. In fact, given that it once did feature on a ‘Mania card, that only makes it even more of a coup for a PPV like Survivor Series.

In recent years, the show has really slipped behind SummerSlam and the Royal Rumble in the pecking order, and maybe even others from the B-tier list such as Money in the Bank or Extreme Rules. But with Lesnar vs. Goldberg taking place on the show, fingers crossed this could be start of something of a renaissance for Survivor Series, in which the PPV is once again presented in the way that it deserves to be.

And even if that proves to be too much to ask for, at least this year’s show alone looks set to be a good one, right?
