5 Positives & 5 Negatives Ahead Of Brock Lesnar Vs. Goldberg

3. Poistive - Top-notch Promo Packages

This ties into the previous point, because in having Lesnar and Goldberg avoid making actual contact with one another meant that the writers had to get creative with their portrayal of this feud.

One of the ways in which they achieved that was via a series of excellent, pre-taped promo packages that aired during the Nov. 7 showing of Raw.

We had an abridged career retrospective for Goldberg, followed by a candid interview in which he revealed the motives behind his return as well as his intentions to be the one guy who could actually give Lesnar the beating he had coming to him. His opponent was of course afforded the chance for a retort, pleading with Goldberg’s family to avoid tuning into Survivor Series, instead advising they stay at home and pray for their man to return in one piece.

Both Lesnar and Goldberg were great in these segments—particularly the former, who's absolutely awesome when allowed to simply speak his mind. All in all, it was another great way to build anticipation and animosity without having to resort to a physical confrontation.
