5 Previous WWE Buried Alive Matches - Ranked Worst To Best
4. Kane Vs. The Undertaker - Bragging Rights 2010
This is the most recent Buried Alive match. Kane was a maskless crazy heel while Undertaker was at a point in his career where he was still wrestling fairly regularly although he was starting to slow down too. Age and injuries were catching up to him. What made this one really interesting is that Kane was the World Heavyweight Champion with his storyline father Paul Bearer at his side. They usually did these matches without titles on the line, but in this case Kane went into the match as a champion. Much like every Undertaker match with Kane, it was all about the brawling. When they got to the grave, Undertaker made Kane tap out with the Hell's Gate submission move. It was WWE's way of showing that Undertaker would have won in a regular match. Undertaker tossed Kane into the grave and looked like he was going to win as he prepared to throw Paul Bearer in as well. Instead, the Nexus showed up to attack him. Kane ended up getting back to his feet, hit Undertaker in the head with the urn and Undertaker went into the grave. Kane ended up starting off his pyro, the lights went red and somebody ended up dumping the dirt from a truck onto the grave. Kane retained the World Title. People assumed this would lead to a feud between Undertaker and The Nexus, but that didn't happen. Undertaker ended up being written out of storylines until February to set up his WrestleMania 27 match with Triple H. It's another example of WWE using the Buried Alive match to write a character out of the picture.
