5 Reasons Cody Rhodes Will Succeed In WWE (And 5 Reasons He Won't)
8. Will - A Message To AEW Talent
Vince and co may not want to acknowledge that AEW are their competition, but while the two companies aren’t yet working on the same scale, the fact is Tony Khan’s promotion have been making some of the biggest waves in the industry of late. Most notably, stars the likes of Jon Moxley, Malakai Black, Adam Cole and plenty more have made the jump to Jacksonville due to the better opportunities on offer.
Now, for the first time, someone has gone the other way. Without a doubt, the eyes of the AEW locker room will be firmly fixed on Rhodes’ fortunes. To that end, it would be a good business move to treat the guy like a star, to foster belief in AEW’s choice talent that they could find similar success with WWE.
Not everyone from AEW would necessarily be a good fit in WWE, but some names - MJF and Wardlow most obviously - it’s easy to imagine doing the business for Vince. They’re much more likely to do so if they see one of their former colleagues being treated like a major talent.
