5 Reasons Cody Rhodes Will Succeed In WWE (And 5 Reasons He Won't)
7. Won’t - His place on the card
In the aftermath of his WrestleMania triumph, Cody conducted a press conference during which he stated that he wanted to win a world title during his WWE contract. While there’s a strong argument to be made that he deserves it, with the best will in the world it’s hard to see him occupying a spot at the top of the company.
For many years now, there’s really only been one focus when it comes to WWE, and that’s Roman Reigns. Excluding the height of Becky Lynch’s popularity and Reigns’ spells on the sidelines due to injury or health, WWE has been Roman’s empire for the best part of the last seven years, and he now holds both world titles.
Presuming a new belt is created for Raw, it’s possible to see Cody holding it, but that’s no guarantee of superstardom - the recent treatment of Big E is all the evidence you need to that end.
At present WWE doesn’t seem capable of managing more than one top star at once, even if the second star’s arrival was the most exciting part of their flagship show.
