5 Reasons Nobody Wins With Brock Lesnar Vs. Jinder Mahal

2. Phony 'Brand Warfare'

On the subject of the match being meaningless, it's a hard sell to pitch fans on the concept of brand loyalty from either Brock Lesnar or Jinder Mahal. Exactly why would these men feel the need to defend Raw or SmackDown at Survivor Series? WWE probably won't even explain that, instead aiming for the same old brand warfare hook.

The whole thing comes across as phony. Mahal's character is a wealthy Indian who looks down on North Americans for treating him differently despite his status as WWE Champion. Why would he be willing to stick up for Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon against Raw? The same goes for Lesnar, a man who craves competition but doesn't appear Raw every week. Why would he dislike SmackDown?

If WWE were willing to put one (or both) of the Universal or WWE Titles on the line at Survivor Series, the match may stand a chance. As it stands though, Lesnar vs. Mahal will be shoe-horned into that Raw vs. SmackDown conversation even when it doesn't fit.
