5 Reasons Nobody Wins With Brock Lesnar Vs. Jinder Mahal
3. WWE Don't Have Time To Build It Properly
WWE have three episodes each of Raw and SmackDown before Survivor Series lands on 19 November. That means creative have a full 15 hours of television time to build up to Jinder Mahal vs. Brock Lesnar. Somehow, that might not be enough to convince fans that the Champion vs. Champion showdown is worth watching.
It's difficult to see casual fans who only tune in for Lesnar's marquee matches being seduced by Mahal as his opponent. Recent foes for Brock have been built either around the concept of being a bad-ass (Goldberg), skilled wrestler (Samoa Joe) or outright wrecking ball (Braun Strowman). Jinder Mahal is none of those things, especially not to an audience who don't tune in every single week.
Survivor Series may come and go before WWE have had the chance to sell the match properly. Right now, it's largely meaningless. There isn't a title on the line, and all viewers have to go on is the idea that Mahal is an underdog who can't possibly hang with a world class fighter.
Thrilling.
