5 Reasons Not To Believe In CM Punk's Cleveland Curse

1. He Made His UFC Debut

So Punk finally made his UFC debut in Cleveland on Saturday, and he was rocked by Mickey Gall. He was immediately taken down, then spent the next two minutes trying to defend himself before he tapped out to a rear naked choke. At no point did Punk have the advantage, and at no point was Gall in any danger.

CM Punk still won on Saturday.

Not many people get to live their dream. Far fewer people achieve their dream, find that it's not all it's cracked up to be, then pursue and achieve a new dream. Punk did just that when he stepped into the Octagon in Cleveland, putting two years of backbreaking labor to the test. The outcome of the fight means nothing - CM Punk talked about doing something, then did it.

Punk knows this - it's why, even after his loss, he said that Saturday was the second-happiest night of his life (only falling behind his wedding). And UFC 203 wasn't a victory because he made a lot of money or got a great spot on a major show - it's a victory because he loves fighting. Punk's proven that by promising to continue his MMA career, whether in UFC or not.

Punk is a winner - in Cleveland, and everywhere else.
