5 Reasons Swagger & Colter Can Become WWE's Top Babyface Act

5. They Have Tremendous Heels To Work With In Rusev And Lana

WWE.comWWE.comThe key to any successful babyface run is to have heels that are strong enough to carry the heat necessary to gain significant crowd response. Since debuting at the 2014 Royal Rumble, Rusev has been undefeated, and Lana has been cutting promos on a weekly basis proclaiming the excellence of not just her and Rusev, but of the country of Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Amazingly, in 2014, American professional wrestling fans are still a jingoistic lot, and feel the need to vociferously boo those who put down America. All Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter had to do was get into the ring with their firmly entrenched characters and stand tall against Rusev and Lana for the heat in the feud to be firmly established. Swagger is also a former World Heavyweight Champion, as well as knowing how to carry himself like a main event competitor, though mired in the midst of WWE's vast midcard. Both Rusev and Swagger are also quite athletic, and for as great as Lana has been as a promo, Zeb Colter has 40 years of pro wrestling experience in cutting money promos, so the idea that Colter's veteran skills are paired with Lana's rising act certainly portends well for the entertainment quotient of all four participants in this feud being involved in vignettes, segments and matches.
