5 Reasons Why Roman Reigns Won WWE Title On RAW

It wasn't at WrestleMania, it wasn't even on PPV. Find out why WWE used RAW to put the title on Roman...

This past Monday's RAW featured one of the biggest moments of 2015, when Roman Reigns defeated Sheamus to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Several factors contributed to WWE's decision to put the title on Reigns that night instead of at another event or at another location. It was certainly a surprise, since seeing a championship title change hands on an episode of RAW is no longer a common occurrence, and it's especially rare for that title to be the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. When fans think of breakout moments for some of the biggest superstars in WWE history, the stage in which those events take place is pay-per-view instead of WWE's flagship show. And when that breakout moment involves the next face of the company, the occasion becomes that much more special since there are only a handful of those moments that exist. Some of those include WrestleMania VI in the Toronto SkyDome, WrestleMania X at Madison Square Garden, WrestleMania XII at the Arrowhead Pond, WrestleMania XIV at the Fleet Center in Boston, WrestleMania 21 at the Staples Center in LA and so on. Notice anything in common? Those events featured the crowning achievement of WWE's next heir apparent and the company celebrated its newest leader by anointing Roman Reigns WWE Champion this past Monday night. While there are exceptions like Hulk Hogan's and Diesel's title wins, Roman's momentous victory did not take place at WrestleMania but on an episode of Monday Night RAW live from the great city of Philadelphia So what made WWE decide to pull the trigger when they did and why they chose the RAW after TLC as the setting? Let's take a look and see.
