5 Reasons WWE Should Sign Samoa Joe (And 4 Reasons They Shouldn't)

1. His Age Is A Factor

Joe will turn 36 years old in March. Normally WWE avoids signing any wrestler at that age because they are seen as too old. If a wrestler typically goes until they hit 40 years of age or so then that means they would only get a few years out of him. In WWE's eyes, that's a waste of time and money to invest in a guy like that. They could spend the same time and money on a 25 year old and hope he becomes the next Cena or Orton rather than going for an older guy like Joe. What might be something in Joe's favor is that WWE signed both Hideo Itami (aka KENTA) and Finn Balor (aka Prince Devitt) when they were 33 years old last year. They're only three years younger than Joe. It's not that much of a difference. However, what's different with them is they aren't established names with the American audience like Joe is. WWE can look at them as fresh new talents for American fans while Joe has been on television regularly for a decade. That's that TNA stigma hurting him. While Joe still has a good five or more years left in the business, there's no way of avoiding the fact that he's closer to 40 than 30. Maybe if he was five years younger WWE would scoop him up for sure because he would be able to give them more years. As it is right now, Joe's age may be the biggest reason why WWE stays away from him. Should WWE sign him and should Joe want to go there? Personally, I think they should and I hope he wants to go, but I have my doubts too. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
