Not just did Tony Khan run back part of The Era of Honor Begins' main event bout by giving audiences Bryan Danielson vs. Christopher Danielson, but the match itself got going following a handshake between both competitors.

Once Ring of Honor launched in 2002, the promotion forever championed the Code of Honor that all wrestlers had to adhere to. As part of this, wrestlers had to shake hands before and after any match. This was ROH looking to mark itself out as different to the sports entertainment element of the industry, taking inspiration from Japan in how, regardless of being heated rivals, competitors always had to show respect to each other and to the artform of professional wrestling.

The strictness of implementing the Code of Honor - which also demanded no outside interference, no backstage attacks, no getting yourself disqualified, and no berating of officials - wavered over the subsequent two decades, but ROH has always been known for having that class and respect for clean and fair in-ring action.

So, that handshake between Danielson and the Fallen Angel pre-match was a nice touch to show the pair's respect for one another and for their time working under the Ring of Honor banner.

Of course, Bryan Danielson is these days a massive d**khead, and thus it came as no real surprise to see the American Dragon take a giant turd on the concept of 'honor' by kicking Daniels' head in post-match.
