5 Storytelling Crutches WWE Needs To Ditch Right Now

4. Distraction Roll-Ups

A year or two ago, it felt like there was a distraction roll-up every single week, whether wrestlers were distracted by their opponents, their partners, or most embarrassing of all, music cues. And although they've cut back a bit, distraction roll-ups still plague the product.

You can't tell us there aren't other ways to sneak victories. In the last few months alone, Sheamus and Cesaro have delivered a number of crafty heel sneak finishes that all felt fresh and innovative: faking tags, distracting an opponent with one teammate while the other delivers a finisher, and so on.

Eddie Guerrero was a master at this, and the times people have channeled him (Sasha Banks, for one) have created great, entertaining moments that made it easier to root for the wrestlers involved. Because, surprise surprise, we like to see people getting outsmarted. We appreciate it when heels do it, and we LOVE it when faces do it.

Leave the schoolboys to Toru Yano, please.
