5 Subtle Signs The Undertaker Has Quietly Retired
4. The 2015 Farewell Tour
After being defeated by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX, many speculated that it was the end of the streak signified the end of the Undertaker himself. His complete disappearance from TV hinted towards this too, so many were surprised when Bray Wyatt started cryptically referring to Taker at the beginning of 2015.
This led to a match between the two at WrestleMania 31, which was ultimately won by Undertaker. Again this was followed by silence from the Deadman, which made it all the more shocking when he returned at Battleground of all shows, appearing out of nowhere to punt Brock Lesnar down south and cost him his re-match against Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
A series of matches with Lesnar followed, including one at SummerSlam that Taker controversially won. Lesnar won the feud, but this wasn't the end for Taker. He moved into a renewed beef with the Wyatts, all of which led to Taker joining up once more with his brother Kane to defeat Bray and Luke Harper at Survivor Series.
Many called it at the time, but this all felt like something of a farewell tour for the Deadman. It seemed as though he was tying up various loose ends, appearing at one last SummerSlam, celebrating the 25th anniversary of his debut at Survivor Series and teaming with Kane one last time.
It isn't unusual for wrestlers to have one last go on the merry-go-round. Undertaker's appearances in the second half of 2015 may have been his.
