2. Sheamus
You may ask yourself, why Sheamus? Hes the World Heavyweight Champion. Hes prominently featured as a top star, and absolutely dominant as of late in the ring. What Sheamus stands to benefit from this situation is far different from Dolph Ziggler, or any of the other names discussed here. Sheamus has a killer winning streak, a great connection with the crowd, and a steadily improving in-ring resume, but as World Heavyweight Champion, Sheamus has hardly been made to look like a star. The World Championship has taken a back seat to not only the WWE Championship, but to John Cenas struggle with John Laurinaitis and company as well. Without names like Chris Jericho and Randy Orton clogging up the upper echelon, an established, yet relatively unnoticed Champion like Sheamus has a clear and crucial opportunity to carve a permanent spot for himself atop Monday Night Raw, and particularly, Friday Night Smackdown. Sheamus must now be looked to as the namesake on which Smackdown falls upon. Its a challenging task, but one the Celtic Warrior should be up to.
How to do it: In order to make Sheamus out to be a legitimate, main event champion, WWE has got to give some meat to his rivalries. They were on a great path heading into Over the Limit, but things seem to have fallen by the wayside again. His rivalry with Alberto Del Rio has been luke-warm at best, based on nothing other than a one-off attack and Del Rios number one contender status. Sheamus needs a compelling story the fans can get behind, and a match that means enough to warrant something more than a spot in the middle of a Pay-Per-View.
