Christian was welcomed back at Over the Limit with open arms, both by the fans and the company. Despite a successful heel run last summer, WWE opted to go the babyface route with Christians return, quickly making him the Intercontinental Champion and thorn in Cody Rhodes side. Christian may have a history of being a bit one-dimensional as a babyface, but that doesnt stop him from being incredibly consistent and well-received both in the ring and on the microphone. Christian is exactly the kind of established name Smackdown needs in its time of superstar depletion. Captain Charisma has a perfect opportunity to establish himself as the grizzled veteran of Smackdown and bring some new life to the Intercontinental Championship.
How to do it: WWE has already begun the process, now its just time to amp it up. Christian is the perfect contender to raise the value of the Intercontinental Championship, and Cody Rhodes is the perfect villain to stand in his way. These two could be the lifeblood of WWEs upper mid-card, and if their rivalry has some time and attention put into it, they could easily ride a fantastic wave of competition right into the dead of summer.
