Austin broke a bone in his back (and injured his hand) when the debuting Booker T ran in and blasted him through the announce table. Angle, meanwhile, broke his tailbone during his hellacious street fight with Shane McMahon. It probably didn't help that he had wrestled twice earlier in the night. One of the early storylines of the Invasion was Angle and Austin competing for Vince's affections. They wanted to be Vince's number one guy during the Invasion. This lead to the infamous guitar singing, hugging and cowboy hats.Whilst it was good in the short-term, everyone involved knew that they had to get serious if the Invasion angle was going to get over and as soon as they were healed up they went back to kicking a**. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPp0ukVFRts
