5 Things AEW Does Better Than NXT (And 5 NXT Does Better Than AEW)

The easiest way to compare AEW and NXT is also the least interesting: television ratings.

That Dynamite does a better job of satisfying the key 18-49 demographic is indisputable, with the WWE show failing to outdo their rivals (and therefore "win" the week based on the KPI valued most by television networks) in a single head-to-head battle. NXT has outdone Dynamite's total viewership before, though the pendulum always swings back to AEW, and the cycle repeats.

Objectively, therefore, AEW is doing a better job of appeasing the Dynamite's target audience.

Subjectively? That's a more engaging conversation, albeit a poisoned one. Praising either product invariably results in cries of "bias!" from the other side's lowest elements, to the point where the word has become meaningless and is best ignored or laughed at. A favourite of bad-faith actors and trolls, it is now as worthless as the other B-word, "buried," and is applied with as much flippancy and thoughtlessness.

Such banal terminology will be avoided in this appraisal of both Wednesday brands and their respective powers. Though AEW and NXT are enjoyed by broadly similar audiences, their subjective strengths differ greatly...
