5 Things AEW MUST Do In 2021 (And 5 They Must Avoid)
4. Another Major Eddie Kingston Feud
Eddie Kingston signing with AEW was a rare feel-good moment in a year largely devoid of them, and just reward for almost two decades spent scrapping, clawing, and pulling his way through the independent circuit.
AEW has provided a perfect home for Kingston. Here, he can cut his raw, rugged, industry-best promos without a filter, building himself a new legion of fans in the process. That he's so real and believable on the microphone may eventually prove his greatest hindrance, as AEW know Eddie can eat big losses and immediately recover any lost heat the next time he grabs the stick. Still, he must be pushed into featured feuds and storylines throughout 2021, at least one of which should be as focused as last year's war with Jon Moxley.
Though short, their feud was a riveting, gut-wrenching masterpiece, and a beautiful tragedy in the end, as Mox finally killed King's dream by wrapping barbed wire around his forearm and applying the Bulldog Choke. Realistically, Eddie was never going to win. How could anyone usurp Moxley?
But he made you believe: and that's what professional wrestling is all about.
Put Kingston in more programmes of this stature and AEW's own army of believers will grow.
