5 Times A Feud With Kane Was The Kiss Of Death For WWE Champions

3. The Undertaker

The Undertaker and Kane once went together well - whether it was as natural opponents or partners in the well-named 'Brothers Of Destruction' tag-team, there was a good fit between both men that fans seemed to enjoy watching. Part of the appeal of the pair as a unit was that it seemed to be akin to the type of team wrestling fans would make in WWF/WWE video games! Sadly, that had all changed by 2010. Facing one another on 3 consecutive supercards, Kane and The Undertaker squared off in a No Holds Barred bout at Night Of Champions in September, followed by a Hell In A Cell match at the Pay-Per-View of the same name, and finally a Buried Alive collision at the redundant Bragging Rights. The Undertaker was still heavily prevalent on WWE TV at this point in his career, and was a big draw, but the matches didn't really appeal to many fans, certainly after the first one proved itself to be a slow, plodding affair. What happened? Even with longtime manager Paul Bearer in the mix, turning on 'Taker and siding once more with Kane, fans seemed to yawn their way through the series. If that sounds a little harsh, those words aren't said out of any animosity towards either man, it's simply fact that their run of matches in 2010 failed to get people genuinely excited, and thus it wasn't really the box office magic WWE had hoped (Hell In A Cell pulled in 210,000 buys, much less than the 2009 version of the event).
