5 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dark (Jun 2)

Ups...

5. Christi Jaynes Has It

Brazilian up-and-comer Christi Jaynes became the female Alan Angels last night, elevating herself beyond the pure jobber tier with a win over KiLynn King.

While Jaynes' recent Dynamite bout against Hikaru Shida was poorly presented, with the announcers doing a bad job of extrapolating on Shida's injuries post-Double Or Nothing, this was an effective level-up performance from a young wrestler with promising attributes. Jaynes has personality, good instincts, and has revealed herself to be a strong athlete as well. Peppering her matches with flashes of character (primarily from the samba gimmick) sets her apart and grabbing the tights on a roll-up was a fitting way for her to triumph.

Her moveset is a little basic, though cool movez aren't as important as the traits she already possesses. Those will come with time. For now, Jaynes looks like somebody worth keeping tabs on.
