5 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dark (Jun 2)

3. Butchered

The Butcher and The Blade
AEW

It was nice to see The Butcher and the Blade back in the ring following a lengthy absence forced by the ongoing global health crisis. They thoroughly demolished Jon Cruz and Joe Alonzo in a one-sided rout that didn't feature a single comeback, attacking at the bell and not letting up throughout.

Allie's absence was covered later in the show. Her (former?) charges did a good job without her, though, mauling their overmatched foes, with The Butcher showing off his power moves and no-selling Alonzo after a failed hot tag. Eventually, the extended mutilation session concluded with Full Death and the pinfall.

Five minutes may have been a tad too long under normal circumstances, though the tandem's in-ring absence made it work. We haven't seen these guys wrestle in months. Why not let them flex a little?
