5 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (April 15)

2. Biggest Match In Rampage History

Adam Cole Hangman Page
AEW

Well, wasn't this a special occasion for Rampage?

Seeing the AEW World Championship on the line was a nice moment for the Friday night show. This, somewhat amazingly, was also Hangman Page's first match on the third hour complement to Dynamite; that, and the fact that the belt was up for grabs, meant the main event carried a pay-per-view quality.

Of course, Page vs. Adam Cole was also the main event at AEW's Revolution 2022 pay-per-view in early-March. The live crowd were buzzing then to see these sworn enemies lock horns in what was pretty much billed as a blowoff bout for their feud.

Despite the overkill (AEW loves a bloody brawl) and Hangman's babyface silliness late on, this was undeniably huge for Rampage. Tony Khan seems to be doing everything in his power to make the program look bigger lately, and it's working.
