5 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (April 15)

3. William Regal’s Commentary (Again)

AEW Rampage Taz Excalibur Ricky Starks William Regal
AEW

Sir William Regal has been having the time of his life since joining AEW. His commentary for that Bryan Danielson vs. Trent Beretta match last week was top notch, and Willy continued delivering the goods on Friday night. He added so, so much to the six-man scrap involving his Blackpool Combat Club troops.

Honestly, give the world more of Regal on comms whenever any combination of Danielson/Jon Moxley/Wheeler Yuta is out there. The ex-WWE legend knows when to pick his spots and add some much-needed insight for submissions and broader plot points.

Crucially, he also knows when to button it and let others take the floor.

Chris Jericho has started to get in his own groove as a commentator, but there's something so astute and measured about Regal's contributions behind the desk. This fan would much rather hear him explain training methods with Yuta than Jericho's over-the-top yells.
