5 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Jan 19 - Results & Review)

Downs...

2. Weak Punches = Weak Pull Apart

Chris Jericho Konosuke Takeshita
AEW

Yeah, this needs to be addressed.

Konosuke Takeshita and Chris Jericho looked like they were tickling one another with those punches during a lame pull apart brawl on the ramp following the latter's match with Matt Sydal. Then, Konosuke floored Christopher Daniels with a stiff forearm smash that begged the question:

Shouldn't he have done that to Jericho instead?! Seeing these rivals hit weak punches that would've made Shane McMahon blush sucked. It was supposed to be a hockey fight, but came out looking like two drunks scuffling outside Walmart. This is probably where Kevin Dunn's erratic camera angle changes would've come in handy!

Seriously though, what was the deal here? All fans needed to see was a heated exchange and then Takeshita cracking Jericho with an elbow like the one he dished out to Daniels. Konosuke vs. Daniels ain't gonna be on pay-per-view, so that was an odd choice.
