5 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Nov 3 - Results & Review)

2. A Rugged Main

Daniel Garcia Trent Beretta
AEW

The contrast between what that Lucha opener offered and what Daniel Garcia vs. Trent Beretta served was sweet. Garcia is an excellent young worker, and Trent is definitely one of the most reliable men Tony Khan has on his books. Blended together, both showed some snug work and produced a nifty main event.

Garcia's come from behind submission win was also a nice touch. It fed into him nearly calling himself a professional wrestler again during the post-match promo. Bonus points to the commentators (big Paul Wight at it again!) for complementing that narrative by talking about Danny's sports entertainment switch.

Well played, everyone.

Perhaps the greatest compliment one could give Garcia vs. Beretta is that they didn't try to do too much for the sake of it. Not every match must feature every spot/hold/move a wrestler knows. Sometimes, keeping your powder dry and suiting the match is best. These guys did that.
