5 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Sep 10)

Downs...

2. Too Late?

Brian Pillman Jr
AEW

AEW maybe should've thought about giving Brian Pillman Jr this kind of moment when his dad's 'Dark Side Of The Ring' episode was released this past May. Four months on is a tad late. Yes, bit of a hollow whinge here, but the outpouring of emotion towards Bri Jr has faded a bit.

If only Rampage had existed in early-summer.

The odd thing about all this is that it felt kinda rushed. All Elite's producers shoved Pillman Jr into the spotlight as a singles star (which is strange considering he's part of a tag-team with Griff Garrison), and the presentation never really pushed The Varsity Blonds as anything other than an immediate afterthought.

Pillman Jr should be a smash hit solo star someday, but there's no need to rush with the guy. It's almost like somebody backstage couldn't fit some Pillman love onto Dynamite months ago, so sat patiently waiting for Rampage to debut.
