5 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Sep 10)

1. Poor Follow-Up

Darby Allin Sting
AEW

Sorry, but yours truly just isn't digging the thought of Darby Allin and Sting vs. Shawn Spears and Tully Blanchard. The focus is in the wrong place. Namely, AEW seem content to have Sting and Tully wax lyrical about the good old days rather than shining the spotlight on Darby or Spears.

Hmm.

Also, and this might be perceived as harsh again, following up CM Punk with Spears is...meh. It doesn't really sit right. He's been a borderline henchman for The Pinnacle lately, and Allin is supposed to represent AEW's future. Darby didn't really put a bow on the Punk situation either, which was annoying.

Finally, the Stinger came out looking like a total dumbass for not seeing that heel ambush coming. The dude has been in wrestling since the 80s, but he didn't know Blanchard was keeping him busy so Spears could attack Allin from behind? Come on now.
