5 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (April 4)
Downs...
2. The Death Of Logic

SmackDown kicked-off with an in-ring address from new WWE Champion Randy Orton, and after a dud of a match with Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 33, The Viper had much on his mind. Emerging to a lukewarm crowd reaction, Orton declared himself Wyatt's master, but couldn't dive too deep into his diatribe before Wyatt interrupted him on the big screen.
Promising to drive Orton insane, Wyatt challenged Randy to a "House of Horrors" championship rematch, and the champ accepted. So far, so mediocre. Erick Rowan then returned and attacked Randy with Bray's assistance, before Luke Harper ran out, made the save, and cleared the ring of his former allies, setting up the night's main event. A relatively bland segment all-round, and when you consider the lack of logic in Harper's actions, it gets worse.
Orton is the only reason Luke split from the Wyatt Family in the first place, and it was his snake-like ways that drove Bray to excommunicate and send him out as a lone wolf on SmackDown. Now, we're expected to believe that all is forgiven, and The Viper is now someone Harper deems worthy of saving.
He obviously still wants a piece of Wyatt (and Rowan by default), but siding with Orton is nonsensical even for a single night, and makes a mockery of everything that led to this point.
