Further Bullet Club dissent was teased before the bell even rang in the battle between club also-rans Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi and current card-fillers Henare and Honma.

Owens grabbed Kevin Kelly's microphone to urge audiences to "forget about Hangman Page", but few NJPW fans will want to should he make the expected jump to All Elite Wrestling with his other friends and colleagues.

It did at least provide a train of thought for viewers as the match itself careered aimlessly off the tracks. Lots of huffing and puffing from the babyfaces didn't exactly speak to the loud statement of intent from Henare in particular that 2019 was going to be his year, with the victory for the heels suggesting that the company have faith in the uncertain future of the BC OGs.
