Friday's SmackDown was Shinsuke Nakamura's first match on TV since losing to Sheamus on the 22 April episode of Raw. WWE's graphic said it was his first match period, which will no doubt infuriate those who attended house shows over the summer. The fine patrons of White Plains, New York would like their money back now, thank you. The absolute cheek of WWE's graphics department.

REFUND THEM, YOU COWARDS!

Right, enough joking around. Shinsuke certainly wasn't. He looked all business, and this new 'Wayward Samurai' gimmick really suits what he's going for. Naka worked a slightly slower style than before, but he was explosive when needed. It was actually kinda surprising to see Andrade dominate most of the match before Shin pulled the turnbuckle pad off during 'El Idolo's' double knee thing in the corner.

Andrade went full speed into it. One Kinshasa later and Nakamura had the win he came for. The heel then looked like the smartest guy in the building by cutting off LA Knight's revenge run-in by casually blasting mist into his face and walking out like nothing had happened. That put Shinsuke over as a serious threat to the United States Title; the turnbuckle craft could come into play at Survivor Series. Watch this space!

Honestly, WWE's presentation of this new Nakamura ruled from the first moment he walked through the curtain. Some might've preferred to see him smash through a few enhancement workers in short squashes, which is fair enough, but it's hard to argue with a match this slick and well worked.
