5 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 25)

Downs...

2. Sami Zayn Is Right

Sami Zayn The Street Profits
WWE

The Street Profits aren't funny.

WWE can pretend all they like that Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford are stand-up comedians to be proud of, but they're just...not. The pair's backstage segments are often painful to watch, and they come across more like New Day-lite than anything else when leaning on this kind of contrived crap.

It's kinda' awkward that a delusional heel like Sami Zayn was bang on the money here. He mocked the duo's "I Was Intercontinental Champion" t-shirt idea and moved on. It's hard to see who this was supposed to help - Sami probs won't move into the tag-team scene now he's belt-less, and that renders this larking about useless.

The creative team must find a way to make The Profits a much more vital part of SmackDown's weekly product. Having them float around shilling merch and acting like perpetual pains in the arse to everyone they come across isn't working.
