5 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 7)

Ups...

5. The Giving Legend

Edge Grayson Waller
WWE.com

Edge went from mentioning his SummerSlam 1998 pay-per-view debut in Madison Square Garden to doing everything in his power to make Grayson Waller look good. That, ladies and gents, sums up everything that's good about the 'Rated-R' legend - he's one of the most giving workers on the planet.

The veteran went out of his way to make Grayson look like a million bucks. He gave Waller a lot for the comparative rookie's first bout on the main roster, and both seemed to be enjoying themselves throughout. If WWE's twin-pronged goal was to pop some interest by bringing Edge back and elevate Waller whilst still having him lose, then mission accomplished.

Job done, everyone.

Now, let's hope the company has something in mind for Grayson to follow up on what's been a smashing week for the guy. He's verbally jousted with John Cena at MITB, and then worked a tidy match vs. one of the best to ever do it.
