5 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 7)

4. A United States Title Banger

GUNTHER has been having top match after top match as Intercontinental Champ, but it feels like Austin Theory's United States Title reign has been largely forgotten about since WrestleMania. SmackDown's match vs. Sheamus was a nice reminder of what Theory is capable of, and it was another workhorse-style performance from Sheamus.

Better yet, the union of Theory and Pretty Deadly came to the fore yet again. Honestly, this guy believes there's something in that worth sticking with, and he's glad WWE's writers didn't just elect to move on after a few on/off weeks of having these lads buddy up. They deserve more time in the oven as a group.

"A-Town...Deadly", or something. That's sh*te, but you get the point.

Austin looked like he had a bit of a chip on his shoulder out there. He must know that things haven't been going swimmingly over the past stretch, but he's been crying out for a proper feud to get stuck into. Fingers crossed that's on the agenda after this fine defence.
