5 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Sept 15)
3. That Closing Segment
Grayson Waller is glorious as an arrogant tool who likes needling others then sitting back and watching carnage unfold. Anyone who reads this article regularly knows the fella writing it had reservations about him being more of a pundit than a wrestler on the main roster, but it's working out well for the ex-NXT loudmouth thus far.
John Cena let him have the floor too, which was appreciated.
So, Grayson was a top class kn*b, Cena's star power guaranteed audience interest, Jimmy Uso's promo was full of fire and more promising than anything else he's been doing lately, and Solo Sikoa smacked a big star around. Triple H is high on Sikoa - it's easy to see that from the way he's handled on TV.
Presumably, AJ Styles running out to save Cena from a two-on-one kicking sets up a tag match down the line. Cena and AJ vs. Jimmy and Solo feels legitimately fresh, doesn't it? Yeah, this was a hot segment from start to finish, and one that juggled a fair few moving parts extremely well.
