5 Ups & 3 Downs For AEW Collision (April 20 - Results & Review)
More hits than misses as Collision nicely heats things up ahead of AEW Dynasty.
With AEW Dynasty taking place tonight, this week's Collision had the tall task of sticking the landing when it comes to generating hype for the company's latest PPV. And in that sense, Collision was largely a success, helping to stir interest for several Dynasty matches. However, that's not to say Collision was a total home run.
Ahead of Dynasty, Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston, and Mark Briscoe got a trios runout before they face House of Black, Austin and Colten Gunn tackled the Acclaimed, Bryan Danielson teamed with Claudio Castagnoli to take on two of Will Ospreay's stablemates in a Bunkhouse Brawl, and the Elite closed out the show by taking on FTR and Pac. Elsewhere, Powerhouse Hobbs geared up for Jon Moxley on Wednesday by squashing poor CJ Esparza, and Skye Blue vs. Leyla Hirsch rounded out the in-ring action of this week's Collision.
There were a few questionable calls on Collision, but, as is so often the case with the show, the actual wrestling seen largely varied between good to great across the board. There was one match where things didn't really click as hoped, yet the rest of this episode ticked by nicely in terms of in-ring mechanics.
