5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dark (Nov 8)

1. The CIMA Team

SCU CIMA
AEW

Dark's main event trios contest pitting SCU and CIMA against TH2 and Kip Sabian was mostly standard fare from the six-men involved, but it did highlight, ridiculously, one of the few reasons we're grateful for AEW.

If this match had occurred in WWE, there's absolutely no question whatsoever that the tag champions would have lost heading into Full Gear, in the misplaced belief that it makes the outcome of their match less predictable. As it happened, SCU prevailed - courtesy of CIMA's Meteora - meaning any defeat in Baltimore will be seen as a greater accomplishment. It's ludicrously simple, and galling that it even needs explaining, but here we are. The match also escaped an AEW-specific criticism of poorly enforced tag rules, so that - again, something we should expect - is a vague positive.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
