5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dark (Oct 8)

3. It's An Hour

Adding any extra content to a busy wrestling fan's schedule is a hard sell at the moment, with AEW and WWE both producing nine hours of A-tier shows between them every single week and things like 205 Live, Beyond Wrestling's Uncharted Territory, Impact, and NWA Powerrr all on the schedule.

Thank the lord, then, that AEW Dark is only an hour long.

It's the perfect length for this kind of show. For the most part, the 60 minutes absolutely fly by (though the women's tag dragged). This is not only thanks to Schiavone's immaculate work between the bouts, but the bouts themselves, with only one stretching beyond 10 minutes and the other three emphasising fun, fast-paced action above all else. It was a breeze of a broadcast.

Let's hope there's never a temptation to expand beyond this hour. It's ideal.
