5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (3 Aug)

Downs...

Powerhouse Hobbs (whose new ring entrance makes him feel 10 feet tall) squashing Ren Jones was the highlight of last night's Team Taz segment. The completely one-sided bout was a triumph in making the big man look completely dominant following last week's heel turn, so mark it was a supplemental Up.

The rest could have used more time on the stove. This, unfortunately, was a familiar case of AEW moving through angles at 100mph. Taz's announcement that Team Taz was disbanding because none of Ricky Starks, Hook, and Hobbs had kept him in the loop about last week took seconds. Then, when Starks ran down following Hobbs' win, he was put down in an instant, eating a powerslam from Powerhouse.

It's a good, effective series of events on paper. In practice, however, it felt rushed. Such is life when you have so much content to get through in two hours.
