5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Feb 4)

1. Maybe Drop A Match?

Note to Tony Khan: Rampage doesn't need to be a four match card every week.

Squeezing stuff on for the sake of it has become a bit of a nasty habit, and it's making the show more like Dark than it needs to be. Rampage is totally better when the promotion pushes two/three matches and a promo segment, because that gives everything on there room to breathe.

This week's offering could've done without Adam Cole running through Evil Uno in two minutes, for example. That win does nothing for Cole's standing on the pecking order, and his post-match promo could've easily happened without the bell-to-bell add on.

Rampage has been four matches since the 'New Year's Smash' episode back at the tail end of 2021 (which featured three bouts). Maybe AEW should consider dropping something next time, 'cause fans don't need to see this much on a one-hour show.
