5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Mar 4)

2. CM Punk’s Bloody Promo

Ooft.

AEW did everyone a favour by keeping CM Punk's bloody tirade back for Rampage. They made it clear that this was taped on Wednesday backstage at Dynamite (hence why the dude was still covered in blood), but teased it as a feather in the 'B' show's cap to get words from Camp Punk before Sunday.

The result? Another watertight promo from Punk in a long line of them. Man, this 'Dog Collar' business is going to f*cking rule, isn't it? Both men are in the zone, and they're keen to work with the kind of freedom that a platform like All Elite should provide.

Go out of your way to see this even if you knew beforehand the kinds of things Punk would say. At one point, he said: "I will become a monster to fight the monsters of the world". That, for those who don't know, is a line Punk uttered in ROH back in 2003.

What a cool moment, and a nod to Tony Khan's new purchase.
