5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 13 - Results & Review)

1. This Was More Like It

Claudio Castagnoli Wheeler Yuta BCC

Last week, Tony Khan thought it'd be smart to stick a world class worker like Claudio Castagnoli out there in a short squash match. That was a p*ss poor decision, but Tony pulled the nose up on things this past Friday. He booked one hell of a tag showing between the BCC lot and Gates Of Agony.

Wheeler Yuta took some tasty hits throughout, but showed his mettle to stick with it and kick out. Then, Claudio was there to help him score the win (not before chasing off Prince Nana though). This is precisely how these dudes should be used. No more squashes, please.

Please?!

Claudio excels when he's in lengthier matches, and Wheeler has a scrappy vibe to him that works well in tandem with Castagnoli's technical proficiency. Gates Of Agony are a mid-table road block for aspiring tag champs, and probably deserve more than they get on AEW programming, but they'll survive this loss.
