5 Ups & 3 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (9 Dec)

2. Moose Gets Done Dirty

W. Morrissey Matt Cardona

Matt Cardona vs. W. Morrissey was set up as a result of Cardona offering to step back from the Hard To Kill main event should he lose. This, coupled with Moose offering his allegiance to Morrissey one last time, set a near-perfect premise for the evening's headliner.

The former GCW World Champion was busted open early on, having been rammed head-first into the ring post, with this then becoming the focus of the match. One excruciatingly painful-looking sequence came when Morrissey drove Cardona's head into the turnbuckle hook, blood continuing to ooze out.

Brian Hebner, upon being thrust across the ring, threw the match out in Cardona's favour, but it wasn't done there. Hebner ate a boot, too. Chelsea Green ran in to save Cardona. Moose followed thereafter, demanding Morrissey aid him. When Morrissey refused, he booted The Wrestling God, and Morrissey subsequently was assaulted by Cardona.

This acted wonderfully to build more anticipation for 8 January; really, it wouldn't have looked out of place on the go-home episode. If you didn't before, you believed here that the former Zack Ryder and Big Cass belonged in the World Title picture.
