5 Ups & 3 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Apr 19)

1. Eli's True Colours

Following their World Tag Team Championship loss in the main event to defending champions The Lucha Bros, Eli Drake and Eddie Edwards appeared to be a stronger unit than ever before. Eddie consoled Eli post-match, followed by Drake deciding to hug Edwards instead of just a simple handshake.

But it was a ruse.

Eli Drake revealed his true colours as he ambushed Eddie in a vicious beatdown, giving him lash after lash with Kenny the kendo stick. A brutal shot to the skull ended the onslaught, as we finally got the old Eli back. He was never really known for his hardcore nature, but he's never a fan of continuing relationships once he sees them failing ever so slightly.

At the time of writing, it's entirely unclear as to where the rivalry goes from here, seeing as Eli has been released from the company, which could leave the rivalry without complete closure. That aside, it was an excellent closing segment to the episode, as was the match itself.
