5 Ups & 3 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Apr 19)

2. No More Screwjobs

With Johnny Bravo screwing Brian Cage and Jordynne Grace out of their match last week against Johnny Impact and Taya Valkyrie to show his allegiance to the champions, it was revealed this week that Cage and Impact's World Championship match at Homecoming would have a special guest referee.

That man is Lance Storm. Scott D'Amore was on the phone with Don Callis, with Brian Cage barging in and demanding to know what the plan was to ensure a clean match was had come 28 April. Whether we get that or not from Storm is a question still in need of an answer, but at least Cage can go to sleep knowing the crooked referee won't be in charge of the main event proceedings.

It's a bit of an odd choice for a guest referee. A outside official was indeed needed (or at the very least, a ringside enforcer), but why is Lance Storm randomly getting involved here? A weird one on the booking team's part.
