5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE NXT UK (29 April)
2. Gallus Boys Return To Form
Symbiosis is a crap name for a stable. That’s all the time your writer will spend on that matter.
Their main event vs. Gallus, however, was not. In fact, it told a delightfully enticing story, based around Joe Coffey being trapped in Symbiosis’ corner, being carefully picked apart by Eddie Dennis, Primate. And T-Bone.
Joe – apparently working as a babyface now – played a wonderful underdog throughout this bout. His demands for Wolfgang and brother Mark to reach out further while he was trapped in a sunset flip attempt was a nice touch for such a bout.
The ending sequence to the match topped this off nicely. Gallus made a series of quick tags to render Eddie Dennis and T-Bone useless, with Wolfgang spearing T-Bone right off the apron a la Big E, having just flown on top of Primate. ‘The Regulator’ had no right whatsoever flying that high. Primate’s fate was sealed after a stiff discus clothesline from Joe.
While your writer would argue that Meiko Satomura vs. Aoife Valkyrie should have been the main event here, Gallus and Symbiosis still had a cracking encounter. All six guys looked strong, in particular Joe Coffey and all three of his adversaries, with a Joe vs. Eddie rematch being teased. A fun piece here.
